SURPRISE: I am lazy. (Uge 9)

HEY PEOPLE THAT READ MY SHIT!
Okay tbh, I'm very lazy today and I am not writing a blogpost today, but I did make a video explaining what I did this week! Excuse my very beautiful English, I'm language-confused, OKAY?

Looove and see you next week with a normal blogpost!

Making tests! (Uge 8)

And yet again, a week has passed! THIS IS GOING SO FAST!

On Sunday we had a meeting with all the YFU-students that live in Midt- and Sydjylland and it was AWESOME! We had a great time hanging out with each other, but we also had some sessions about how we are adjusting in Denmark and what we're doing and stuff. It was sooo nice to see a lot of people back and hearing about their stories and what they've experienced! I wish I took pictures, but I was so excited I kind of forgot... #Oops...

On Monday, I made my second math test and I think I'm quite okay! On the one I made last week I got a 10 (voor de Belgen: ik had 12/14, systeem van punten is hier anders) and on this weeks test I had a 10 again (18/20)! WOOPWOOP! I was very excited about this, becaaause the test was completely in Danish. They also use different methods here, to which I'm trying to adjust, so these tests were important to me to see if I actually got it. Also on Monday, I got my studentcard! (Excuse the dogpoo on my head...). Of course I also had gymnastics on Monday, which was a lot of fun, just like always!

On Tuesday we'd normally be off at 12.30 but since we have a math assignment we have to hand in on Sunday, we had a "questionhour" (spørgtime) afterwards. It's not obligatory, but I thought I'd stay to make the assignment and help my friends! After that hour I stayed a bit longer at school, because AC had to wait for her bus and she wasn't finished with the assignment, so I helped her a bit more. We also rehearsed the body parts in Danish AND we got complimented by 2 teachers passing by because of our way of communicating. They loved the fact that I was trying my best so hard to speak Danish and they loved the way AC helped me!

On Wednesday, we had a long day, with a lot of subjects where I do not understand a lot, sooo I basically made Danish exercises all day. Which I'm allowed to BTW! We also had idræt (L.O.) where we had to run around in the woods with a map, looking for posts and writing a code down and basically finding as much posts as possible. BASICALLY RUNNING AROUND. (I can't run.)
The fun thing about Wednesdays is that we always eat cake during Danish!

On Wednesday evening Marianne, Kim, Signe and I played Bezzerwizzer again. This time Signe and I formed a team and Kim and Marianne were a team... Soooo, we lost! :(

On Thursday I made some more Danish exercises during the classes and I found out that the website I'm using is actually really good! If you want to learn a foreign language, try www.duolingo.com! Thursday was a very fun day at school... I don't know why but I enjoyed it a lot! I also got a review on an English assignment I did a few weeks ago and I got a 12 with an arrow down! I'M DOING GREAT IN SCHOOL HERE!

On Friday guess what I did during the classes? YOU'RE RIGHT I MADE DANISH EXERCISES! Hihi! When I got home, the backpack I ordered had arrived! I was sooo excited! It's basically a grey backpack with ears, hahaha :D Friday evening we watched some TV together, in Danish of course! (Or in English, with Danish subtitles)
Today I cleaned up my room and I made some banana & oat cookies! Mmmmm... I'm about to leave for gymnastics, because we have an extra training this week! Tonight we also have a party with the gymnasts, so that's exciting and I'm looking forward to it!

I hope y'all had a great week and I wish the best of luck to all my Belgian friends who are starting university on Monday, YOU CAN DO IT!

Major loves,
Justine

P.S.: I'm planning on writing another blogpost tomorrow or on Monday about the things I've experienced so far about "how to learn a foreign language", so stay tuned!

Being creative! (Uge 7)

This week was kind of a 'normal' school week. Although there were a lot of classes cancelled, so I was home a lot! Signe was not home, so I had time to be creative this week! Enjoy my art (haha)...

On Sunday it was my Farmor's birthday, so we went to eat 'frokost' with the family and afterwards we ate cake (what else) over at her place!

On Monday I was off at 13.55. AC came home with me and we walked with Ludwig and went to Netto (supermarket). I tried Cocio for the first time in my life and I was impressed! I normally do not like pre-made chocolate milk, but this is actually good! I might have drunk the whole bottle on Monday... Oops. Monday evening I had gymnastics training again and it was soooo much fun! I'm learning a whole bunch of things and I enjoy it a lot! They split us up in little groups, so that's good. I'm always very tired afterwards though...

On Tuesday I was off at 12.30, so I went home. There were a lot of things I had to do, so a made a little to-do-list and I did EVERYTHING on it! I was so proud of myself! It included things like doing laundry, cleaning up my room and all that kind of stuff. I did find out I'm very bad at doing the laundry... Some things shrunk and I had to ask Marianne whether my clothes could go in the tumble dryer or not... Oops... Most things survived though ;) Also on Tuesday I made a memory-bottle. Maybe some of you know, but in Belgium I had this jar where I put in little post-it's with exciting things that happened about my exchange. I couldn't bring the jar because it was too big and too heavy, so I made a new one. With the Cocio-bottle! I cleaned the bottle out, put some stickers on it and put some colorful in it! I think it looks pretty! ;)

On Wednesday... Euhm... Off at 12.30 I think... We played softball during idræt for the last time! My team lost... Oops! I can't really remember what I did when I came home... I think Wednesday was the day I skyped with Selma. She is from Germany and also in Denmark as an exchange student! It was nice to hear how she was doing! After that I was creative again. While watching some vlogs on YouTube, I decorated my headphones. This might sound weird to Belgians, but I've seen multiple people in Denmark doing it and I actually liked it a lot! So that's why I 'copied' them! On Wednesday Marianne and I made applecakes, mmmm!

On Thursday we were off at 12.30 again, while biking home, I made the following picture and I realized that Vejle is one pretty city!

When I came home, I was creative AGAIN! I had a lot of empty frames in my room, so I decided to print some pictures with my Belgian friends and place them in my room! I had a lot of fun making those! Let's say I was tired and went to bed. (tbh, I can't remember what else I did...)
On Friday we didn't have any classes, because it was the school's birthday! We could choose between some workshops and I had a workshop about Video. We had to make a video around 'Fejl' (=fail). I worked with Pernille and Mathilde, two girls from 1.g. I can't show you the result, but we named it 'SHIT' and it was hilarious to make! When I came home at around 16.00, I had to get ready to go back to school. Because when the school has its birthday you're supposed to go there in the evening and eat together with your class and party afterwards! As I mentioned before partying with the danes is awesome, so I had another lovely evening!

Today was Sascha's birthdayparty, so we went there and ate cake (for change...) and cake, and oh, we also ate cake! I love cake though ;) Maybe a bit the much... I think I might have gained around 6 kilos already OOOPS! Haha!

You'll hear from me soon! Lots of love,
Justine

P.S.: If you're on exchange ATM, download shazam on your phone and shazam all the songs at parties!

Piknikparty & LEGOLAND! (Uge 6)

Here we are agaaaaain, in the sixth week of my AMAZING exchange! Yet again, before I'm going to explain my exciting week, I would love to say that I love it here. All danes are so freaking kind and a lot of them are giving me compliments about my danish, which is awesome. Yesterday for example I bumped into someone I met in my very first week and she didn't recognize me, saying "wow, I didn't recognize you, you look so much like a dane now!" which obviously was the biggest compliment I have ever gotten in my entire life, because that's all I ever wanted...

Okay so last week I was about to leave for Juelsminde to our summerhouse, wasn't I? I can't really remember... So, on our way to Juelsminde we stopped in Horsens. And there was this medieval fair going on, which was CRAZY to see! All the people were dressed up and there were things going on everywhere! Then we drove up to our summerhouse where we had a very "hyggeligt" time. We watched some TV together, played games and had a good laugh about a lot of different things. On Sunday we mostly cleaned everything up again, made some homework in the summerhouse and then went for a little walk on the beach. Then we went back home and I watched The Fault in Our Stars. I've never ever ever cried that much just by watching a movie (except for Oscar et La Dame Rose and that one documentary that we once saw in 5th grade of high school...).

On Monday we just had a regular schoolday (it's actually funny that I'm already calling them 'regular schooldays' haha), although during lunchbreak we went to the Christian Meeting, which was... Interesting? It was difficult to understand what they were talking about, because it was all very deep and I'm not that into religion... When I came back home from school, Signe and I baked BANANKAGE MED CHOCOLADE. On Monday evening I had Gymnastics again. I really like it but I'm not sure if I want to keep doing it. I probably will, 'cuz ya know #yolo. This time I tried the tumbling part and I learned to do a roundoff and a summersault! #proudofmyself.

Tuesday was another 'regular' day at school. I was off at 13.55 but I stayed a bit longer to make an assignment with some other girls from my class. On Tuesday evening my contactpersons came over to our house to have a little talk, to check if everything was okay and so on. I think they saw that I am very happy and they were impressed about my Danish! My junior contactperson is Stine, she is such a sweet girl and I'm glad I can talk to her!

On Wednesday we had a long day again... Since we have 5th modul and we have idræt (L.O. voor de Belgen) it is a veeeery tiring day. After school, Kristiane and AC came by and we ate some BANANKAGE together and we had a good time! The fun thing about those two crazy girls is that on our way home they always teach me new words by pointing at the things and then making me repeat them a hundred times. Which is actually a very good way of learning new words! I'm very thankful to them for doing that! On Wednesday evening Line passed by and we played Sequence together (just for the record, Signe and I always win!).

On Thursday, I was veeery tired. I did find a mistake in the French textbook which I thought was very exciting, hihi! After school we made homework together with some of the other girls. Thursday evening wasn't that exciting. I watched Belgium-Australia and we obviously won (2-0).

Friday was a very exciting day since we went to  PIKNIKPARTY! So after school, most of us dropped off their bags at home and then we all met up in byparken (the local city-park) where Piknikparty was happening. There were some concerts, the sun was shining and we all had a great time together. I also met up with some girls from my French class and they had a Dutch friend with them. And here are the language struggles again. If you're switching between English and Danish for the past 6 weeks it suddenly becomes veeeery difficult to speak your native language. It's not that I couldn't speak Dutch anymore, it was just veeery hard to switch and I had the feeling my sentences did not make sense at all... I could also see at the way he was looking at me that I was talking weird... Hahaha... Don't know what that's going to be after a year! Then I wanted to go back to my class and I couldn't find them anymore... So during the most exciting concert (CHRISTOPHER) I was standing alone, singing out loud... I eventually found them and we ate kebabpizza. Which is actually a weird thing, but very good? I don't really know... I like it, but it really tastes just like a durum, because it's like a pizza with tomato sauce and kebab but lettuce and dressing on it as well? But I had a great time, partying with these people is absolutely awesome!

On Saturday I slept quite long. When I eventually woke up and went downstairs they said that if I wanted it we could go to Legoland. Obviously I said YES! Going to Legoland was on my bucket list! And I can't even describe how freaking excited I was!! I was jumping around the house and I couldn't wait until we left. When we got there, it was like... I don't know, I can't really describe my feelings. They had like a mini-Europa thing, with everything build out of Lego and attractions as well and people walking around dressed up as Princesses and... SO MANY DIFFERENT THINGS! There even was a Legostore (NO SHIT) and they had like millions of Legobricks that you could pick like you would fill a bag of candy? If that makes sense? And then afterwards you'd have to weigh the bag... Well, you get what I mean! I also bought a keychain with a golden brick on it and it says my name! We had some great family time but unfortunately it started raining really hard, like pouring so we had to go home.

It's currently very late and I really should go to bed now... Thanks for reading my blogpost, I hope you still enjoy reading them :) If you don't, then that's okay :)

I LOVE YOU ALL and lots of hugs and kisses,
Justine
