Time goes even faster? & Iceland video! (Uge 35)

I'm going to be honest with you, this week was a "We need holidays"-week.... I hung out at Karoline's twice and that's about everything "exciting" that I did...

Oh yeah, another thing... It's beginning to be a lot of "lasts"? On Monday we had our last gymnastics training, on Tuesday it was the last time we had to go to knitting course and tomorrow is our last gymnastics recital! TIME GOES SO FAST!

This week was very tiring, I think everyone needed vacation! ;) Soooooo yesterday started our Eastervacation, which lasts a week+1day! We're going to spend the majority of it in a vacation house!

Buuuut besides all of that, I EDITED A MARCH VIDEO and I'm going to be honest again and disappoint some of you, because it's "just" a video about Iceland, and everything is in Danish...

I WENT TO ICELAND (Uge 32, 33 & 34)

Welllllll, I've not been that great with updating my blog... Oops. You're going to have to live with that ;)

Check out my gymnastics recitals here: clicky clicky

WEEK 32: AT4

I was going to say that Week 32 was a normal week, but actually it wasn't. Monday was a normal day at school, with gymnastics training in the evening.
From Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday we had AT4, which is a group work thing where you have to work around a topic for a few days. This time we had to work with Iceland, since that's where we're going on a school trip. We had to work with coast lengths and with intercultural competences. On Thursday we had an "exam" in English, which consisted of two parts, a grammatical part in which we weren't allowed to use anything and a part where we had to write an essay about a short story, where we (of course) could use our computer. We had to write 700 to 1000 words and I handed the thing in with 1001 words, haha!

WEEK 33: ICELAND! (The pictures might not all be in the right order)

On Sunday morning 8/3 we left at 5.30 for Iceland! Well... We took a bus to Fredericia, where we took a train to Copenhagen, where we waited for 3 hours, then we took a plane to Keflavik and then we had to take a bus to Reykjavik! Since we had to wait in Copenhagen for so long, Regitze came over to the airport :D
I shared a room with Karoline, Kristiane, Linnea and Katrine R, we made a cozy mess!
On Sunday the only thing we actually did was going outside to the supermarket to buy some food. We had good intentions of cooking food every day. That did not happen. We had lasagna for dinner. You know, the kind you buy and pop in the oven!
The plane landed on ice and snow?! Thought we were going to die for a minute...

On Monday we went out and sat in the bus the whole day, we drove around in snowy Iceland and saw a lot of things. We went to a geotermical thing (haha) and we saw a vulcano and a lot of other pretty things. When we got back, we went to the pool, which was an outside pool, but the water is warm, so it was very nice to be in it. We did run out of the water, roll in the snow to jump back in the pool again! We had a lot of fun ;) Oh yeah, we didn't cook either on monday. We had instant noodles!

On Tuesday we went to visit an Icelandic high school, which was kind of weird, since none of us understand Icelandic and we felt kind of useless? The thing that I can remember about the school is that they have to take there shoes off when they come in the school. It makes sense though, with all the snow. In the afternoon we were meant to go to the beach and measure the coast line, BUT there was a snowstorm, so we really couldn't do that. We went to the pool instead and I must admit it's rather weird to be outside in a pool, with a snowstorm going on. I don't think I've ever seen that much snow before... When we walked back from the pool to our hostel, it had snowed so much that we couldn't see the sidewalk anymore! Karoline and I did cook this evening! We made pasta with pesto and chicken! :)

On Wednesday we went to a university where we had a lecture about Iceland and vulcano's. In the afternoon we went horseback riding on Icelandic horses! It was very cold, but nice though! We had Domino's pizza for dinner... hahaha, the cooking thing really didn't go that well!

Thursday was our last day where we actually could do stuff. We went out in Reykjavik and were supposed to to like a scavenger hunt in the city, but we sat down in a coffee bar instead... Well, we were just living the good life over there! In the afternoon we went to the Blue Lagoon, which is another one of these thermal pools/spa thing. The water was even warmer than "our" pool and it was very nice to be there! We drove back and got 15 min to change in the hostel and then we went out to eat with the whole class! (No cooking either...).

On Friday we had to travel back to Denmark, so we left the hotel at 4.15 in the morning, and we did the whole bus-plane-train-thing again! IT WAS SUCH A NICE TRIP THOUGH! Thanks to my own lovely class 2.l and 2.n who was on the trip as well for this trip!

2.l - my loooovely class in front of the American continental plate!

On Saturday I slept. And slept. But on sunday we had another gymnastics recital (link above)! Everything went okay I guess!

WEEK 34: Almost no school!

A lovely danish lunch!
This week was a lot of relaxing! A lot of our classes got cancelled, so I was home a lot!
On Monday we only had 2 classes, so I got home early and relaxeeed!
Tuesday was kind of a special day since I went to do presentations in a 1.g class. They had intercultural competences and I, as an exchange student, had to speak about how I saw Denmark and do a presentation about Belgium. I was in a very nice class!

On Wednesday I got an hour later to school, and when I arrived, we only had to go to the second period and then we got stærefri, which means that the headmaster saw the first stære (kind of bird) and therefore he gives the rest of the day off. It also means that spring has officially begun. So after that one period, we went to McDonalds and afterwards I took the bus home!
Karoline was not too happy about sitting in the back!
Thursday was actually a normal day at school, BUT we were kind of lazy in physics, where we were supposed to go out and test things, we went to the fjord instead and sat down and enjoyed the sun!

Friday we had 3 periods, but of course due to the eclipse, we had to measure the whole thing. Well we couldn't do much since it was all cloudy, but yeah. All of a sudden it was very cold as well!

This weekend was a busy weekend, since I had gymnastics recitals both Saturday and Sunday! Saturday evening we went to see Signe's theater piece and she did a great job!

Well that's about it for the last 3 weeks! I hope you enjoyed reading!

Justine

P.S.: next week is video week! (IF I have enough footage...)

The process of making Tetris things (Uge 31)

Well hyelloh everyone, ANOTHER WEEK HAS PASSED, I'VE BEEN IN DENMARK FOR 7 MONTHS and I uploaded a January/February video ;) (Most of it is in Danish though, and I'm sorry it is this long...)

In Gymnastics we're preparing for the shows, so we had an extra long training on Monday. Very tiring, but very exciting, because I finally felt like we were getting somewhere! Our performance is about 23 min long and it consists of dancing and gymnastics parts! Our shows will be filmed, so I will give you a link when I get one, so you can see it as well!

I look terrified, haha
On Tuesday I only had 2 periods, which was niiiiice, because I was home again around 11. All of a sudden Karoline and Kristiane texted me (they were still at school) telling me that we would be Tetris things for the party on Friday (Fastelavn, we had to dress up). So Kristiane picked me up when they were done with school and on Tuesday and Wednesday we made Tetris things (also, i'm calling it things, because my english is very bad right now, and i have no clue what they are called in english.). BUT THIS IS THE PROCESS:

I personally think we did a GREAT job and they looked great! We made them like a rucksack, so we could wear them on our back or belly! A picture of us wearing them is further down :)

On Thursday we ate cake. And I took a cute picture with Karoline and Kristiane. Oh yeah we also played a prank on your physics teacher... hehe. Kristiane and I also watched Camp Takota in Danish, the teacher wasn't there.

On Friday we only had 3 periods so when I came home I did something (which I can't remember) and then I left to go to Anne's preparty! And after that we went to the party at school :) I was home around 23.45 because on Saturday we had our first recital!

And this was all the people at the preparty dressed up:

Soooo on Saturday we had our first recital! We had to be at the venue at 9 and we had to be there aaaaall day! Tiring it was! But we had a great first show, I did make a little mistake but I don't think anyone noticed AND I did all my jumps right! I was very happy! These are some pictures of the "welcome" we did and from our warming up, I challenge you to find me, (I haven't found myself).

I think we have about 3-4 shows left in the coming weekends!

Aaaand today is a relaxing day :)

Sooo that was it for this week! I'm sorry this was more pictures than text, but yeah!

Love,
Justine
